This shop was recommended to me by a friend of a friend kind of thing. I am fairly new to the area and wasn’t sure where to take my car. I have never been good at keeping up on car maintenance, but with today’s economy, I knew I had better start taking care of what I have because I certainly couldn’t afford a new car.
I went in for a routine oil change (more than a few months overdue!) and was expecting to experience the same kind of atmosphere that I have had in most shops. Typically I get the impression that I am being talked down to because I am female in a car guy kind of world and that I don’t know anything about cars and what goes in them. Now granted, I don’t really know much about cars, but I don’t like to be treated like I am clueless just because I am female.
Not only was the experience really great…the guys that work there really took the time to answer my questions and even showed me a couple of things on my car that I had been having trouble with that were really easy to fix, but I came away from the whole thing feeling really confident that I wasn’t being taken advantage of.
Unfortunately, I am in need of some brakes really soon .(I knew that was coming since I have been putting off for a long time)…but at least I know where I can take my car to have it fixed and not have to worry about being worried!

Thanks Benchmark…your shop is awesome!

I have taken my car to these folks a couple of times and they have been very professional and friendly. I called around to other repair shops before going with them and I could have gotten the repairs done for a little cheaper but in my opinion, not with the same quality of care. Plus they have loaner cars which is a blessing when you are a one car family. I will continue to use their services and recommend them to my friends and family.

Emergency Car Repair (Two Cars)

Mar 05, 2012 by Don Hill

Andy and Scott and their team at Benchmark were outstanding in identifying the problems with our two vehicles that were towed to their shop on short notice.

My 2005 Chevy Aveo had an unidentified cooling problem at 10:30 PM Tuesday night that left me stranded on Bainbridge Island and my wife's' 2004 Caviler "died on me suddenly" while driving to meet the tow truck on Bainbridge Island at 10:00 AM Wednesday morning here in Kingston.

Both stranded cars were towed to Benchmark within one hour of each other for troubleshooting and repair. Benchmark provided a rental car at a more than reasonable cost and the repairs for both vehicles were far more reasonable than other repair shops in the area between Bainbridge Island and the Poulsbo area.

Andy and Scott worked with us and made matter of repair a non-issue and less stressful on the family tight budget. Both cars were repaired in a timely (less than a 5 day work week (they are closed on Saturday's and Sundays) and a highly professional manner.

They kept us appraised in all aspect of repair and options. They do not try to up-size the repair or lead you down the wrong path. The are very understanding of the situation you are in and help provide solutions that don't break the bank in an fortunate situation.

I highly recommend Benchmark for fair and honest service at a reasonable price.
